Interview on Sri Lanka

The situation in Sri Lanka is "the worst it's ever been," according to Sunila Abeysekera, executive director of INFORM, a human rights documentation center in Sri Lanka. Sunila has worked as a human rights activist in Sri Lanka for more than two decades. As major fighting resumes between the Sri Lankan government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), Sunila and Fred Abrahams, senior emergencies researcher at Human Rights Watch, discuss the main human rights problems and challenges facing the country. The interview was recorded in Colombo on October 11, 2006.
