Tell Putin and Bush to Protect Russian NGOs

Russia’s parliament should reject legislation that would tighten government control over Russian civil society groups and force foreign organizations in Russia to close.

What You Can Do

Write to US President George Bush: Express your concerns over a bill entitled ‘Amendments to Several Laws of the Russian Federation'. And urge him to make clear to President Vladimir Putin that adopting such a draft law is unbecoming for the chair of the G-8 and would severely damage Russia’s international reputation.
