Internship Description:
Undergraduate internships are primarily administrative and clerical in nature, but other projects can be assigned as they arise and match the student's interests and abilities. The Human Rights Watch International Film Festival intern will assist with the following activities:
Internships are generally unpaid, although work-study funds are available. Students are often able to arrange academic credit, as HRW internships often offer direct exposure to the workings of an international human rights organization, close supervision by the HRW International Film Festival staff, interaction with other U.S. and international film festivals, and opportunities to attend lectures, trainings, and special events relating to human rights. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, with a strong interest in film and human rights. Relevant coursework is highly desirable and a minimum of 2 years completed college education required. The following skills are required: proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, basic HTML and Photoshop and the ability to conduct deep internet research. A minimum commitment of 2 full (8-hour) days per week or 4 half days (4-hours) is required.
