Internship Opening for Graduate Students

Communications and Advocacy Department, Paris Office

Internship Description:  
Graduate internships are primarily administrative and clerical in nature, but other projects can be assigned as they arise and match the student's interests and abilities.  
 

Contribute
The purpose of this internship is to assist the Paris office Director, in collaboration with the Office Administrator, with:  
     
  • Launching reports published by Human Rights Watch in France with the media and decision-makers  
  • Follow-up on specific issues or countries
  •  
  • Updating the media and decision-makers databases
  •  
  • Taking part in meetings with decision-makers or other non-governmental organizations and writing the minutes of these meetings
  •  
  • Drafting a monthly media coverage report and a monthly advocacy report
  •  
  • Translating documents between French and English
 
Qualifications:  
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, with a strong interest in international human rights. Relevant coursework is highly desirable, and excellent knowledge of both French and English is required. Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Internet applications, databases) are also required. Previous work experience organizing events and/or fundraising is also highly desirable. Applicants will preferably be available full-time.
