The Human Rights Watch Annual Dinner celebrates the valour of individuals who put their lives on the line to protect the dignity and rights of others. This year we will honour human rights defenders from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan and Russia. Their work illuminates serious violations addressed by Human Rights Watch: the deadly conflict in eastern Congo, which has killed more civilians than any war since World War II; the lack of safety and security in Afghanistan; and abuses against conscripts in the Russian military. All proceeds from the dinners benefit Human Rights Watch.
