Internship Description:
The U.S. Program of Human Rights Watch is seeking a part-time intern to assist with reviewing and responding to mail that is sent to HRW by prisoners in U.S. jails, prisons, and immigration detention facilities. Applicants must be available to intern at least 10-12 hours per week.
Undergraduate internships are primarily administrative and clerical in nature, but other projects can be assigned as they arise and match the student's interests and abilities, including research, drafting documents, translating, and helping researchers prepare for missions.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, with a strong interest in international human rights and/or criminal justice issues. Relevant coursework is highly desirable, and knowledge of Spanish is a plus, but is not required. Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are required.
