The Human Resources Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking full-time or part-time qualified interns who will support the Human Resources staff with a variety of Human Resources tasks and projects. The interns’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to internship inquiries, auditing invoices, reviewing personnel records for accuracy, assembling orientation packets, creating and maintaining personnel files, filing, photocopying, data entry and other projects as assigned.
Internships are primarily administrative and clerical in nature but other projects may be assigned as they arise and match the student's interests and abilities.
Internships are unpaid, although work-study funds are available. Students are often able to arrange academic credit, as HRW internships offer direct exposure to the workings of an international human rights organization, close supervision by the HRW staff and opportunities to attend lectures and special events relating to human rights.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, have good phone manner and strong attention to detail. Applicants should have a genuine interest in Human Resources. Relevant coursework is highly desirable. Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are required.
How to Apply:
Please apply immediately by emailing together a letter of interest, resume, two references or letters of reference and a brief writing sample (unedited by others) to humanresources@hrworg. Please use “HR Intern” as the subject of your email. Only complete applications will be reviewed. It is preferred that all materials be submitted via email. If emailing is not possible, send materials (please do not split a submission between email and regular post) to:
