Paris

Human Rights Watch's office in France was created in 2007 and acts daily to make French human rights policies as active as possible at the international level, and to make France play a truly leading role in Europe and in the world in that field. First-hand information gathered by Human Rights Watch through its investigations in the entire world make it possible for us to put an effective pressure on diplomats and political leaders.

Human Rights Watch is supported by a network of individuals (council members), organized in Committees, who participate in the global effort towards greater support for human rights, provide an important presence in key capitals, and help us fulfil our mission.

The Paris Committee, composed of influential French and foreign figures, plays a crucial role in increasing Human Rights Watch’s visibility and impact in France.
