Advocacy and media relations in Paris
Human Rights Watch provides policymakers and the media with precise information about current human rights situations, based on in-depth research in the field. Our international network of offices in numerous cities (New York where the headquarters are based, Berlin, Brussels, London, Geneva, Moscow, Toronto etc.) enables us to influence decisions made by policymakers and affecting the lives of women, men and children in numerous countries throughout the world.
In many instances, Human Rights Watch has advocated the establishment of impartial international jurisdictions to deal with human rights issues. Human Rights Watch also seeks to actively encourage the French government in its role as a promoter of human rights throughout the world, and protector of these rights on the French territory. Such actions will ensure that France's historic legacy as "motherland of human rights," dating back to 1789, will live on continuously in the 21st century.
