Services limited to Virginia prisoners only. RCAP Virginia CARES helps prison inmates and newly released parolees in making a successful transition from prison to society. Pre-and post-release services for ex-offenders include life skills training, consumer education, social skills and family relationships workshops, and emergency assistance in locating counseling, housing, employment, clothes and transportation. Transition Specialists work with clients to begin the process of making long-range plans for education, employment, and permanent housing.
