Your Excellency- I am writing to express my concern about the upcoming prosecutions of Jelveh Javaheri and Maryam Hosseinkhah and the ongoing governmental crackdown on women’s rights campaigners throughout Iran. I urge you to call for the immediate release of all women’s rights activists whom the government is currently detaining on charges relating to their peaceful activities on behalf of the One Million Signatures Campaign to End Discrimination Against Women. Both Iranian and international law guarantee the rights to peaceful association, expression and assembly. I ask that your office act quickly to end all harassment of women’s rights activists and to ensure that Iran meets its international obligations. Sincerely,
