Léo Martine
Léo Martine is a Senior Geospatial Analyst at Human Rights Watch. As part of the Digital Investigations Lab, he works closely with researchers by applying geospatial technologies to human rights investigations. He is responsible for the analysis and production of satellite imagery derived products that cover a range of issues, including armed conflict, forced displacement, environmental destruction, and poverty and inequality.
Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Léo worked as the Head of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Unit of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and as GIS specialist for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in different countries. He holds a master's degree in Geography and Territorial Development from the University of Grenoble, France. Léo speaks French and English.
