Human Rights
Watch Annual Dinner
The Human
Rights Watch Annual Dinner celebrates the valour of individuals who put
their lives on the line to defend the rights of others. This year we will
honour human rights defenders from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan
and Russia. Their work illuminates serious violations addressed by Human
Rights
Watch: the deadly conflict in eastern Congo, which has killed more civilians
than any war since World War II; the lack of safety and security in Afghanistan;
and abuses against conscripts in the Russian military. This year's event will be held at The Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road,
London SW7 on Thursday, 3 November 2005 at 7.15pm.
