Bénédicte Jeannerod
Bénédicte Jeannerod has been the France Director of Human Rights Watch since November 2015. She began her professional path with Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders, where she led the Communication Department as a deputy director during 4 years. She notably covered issues linked to humanitarian access during crisis, documented the situation of civilians in conflicts (Chechnya, Burundi, Chad, etc.), elaborated MSF’s public positions on access to essential treatments/vaccines in epidemic/pandemic situations (HIV, multi-resistant TB, acute malnutrition, vaccination). She then ran UNICEF France’s Advocacy and Communication during 7 years where she developed UNICEF’s advocacy towards French authorities, particularly on child poverty, migrant children and juvenile justice. She has a master degree in journalism and has also worked during 3 years as a project-manager in audio-visual production focused on public-health.
